Background:
Sponne School is named after William Sponne,Archdeacon of Norfolk, who founded a Chantry inTowcester in 1430. The school has an excellent reputation for consistently high standards and levels of involvement in a wide range of sporting activities. The school provides opportunities for pupils to experience the major games of hockey, rugby, soccer, netball, cricket and rounders. In addition, students also experience gymnastics, outdoor education, badminton, basketball, athletics, cross-country running and trampolining as part of the curriculum. Facilities include extensive playing fields and a modern sports hall, including indoor cricket nets and a climbing wall. The school aims to prepare its students to take their place in society as responsible, informed and contributing citizens.
