Background:
Well-maintained building in attractive grounds; extension of three classrooms, IT area and library added in 1998; outdoor storytelling area, for which pupils worked with ceramic artist and sculptor to make decorative characters from literature. Modern foreign languages for all Key Stage 2 pupils from September 2005. Strong commitment to ICT and arts. Sport offered both as part of curriculum and as extra-curricular activities, which include: football, rugby, netball, tennis, drama, recorder, choir, ocarina, gymnastics, basketball and art clubs. Successful competitors in local football tournaments and swimming events. Artsmark Gold (2004); DfES achievement awards (2000, 2003). Ethos: 'Children are constantly challenged and supported to achieve their potential. There is a passion for the arts and a broad curriculum in which all children are involved. The school enjoys strong community links and has a Christian ethos. The children are expected to behave well and are encouraged to care for each other'.
