Background:
The school is situated in a 'lovely rural setting' and is accommodated in buildings which are a 'lovely mix of Victorian and more modern additions'. Pupils also benefit from a 'well-maintained' playground and adjoining sports field and the school's own nature conservation area. The school's vision is 'to develop a joy of learning in each child'. In terms of special educational needs (SEN), it is the school's aim 'to ensure that these needs are recognised and assessed as early as possible, and additional provision made to support the child's progress'. A variety of lunchtime clubs are available to children at Key Stage 2, including a chess club and recorder groups. The school also offers selective sports training sessions after school such as athletics and football. There is an SEN co-ordinator for the school, in addition to a number of learning support assistants.
