Background:
St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Aston-le-Walls, was founded in 1832, and is the oldest school in the Northampton Diocese. It draws children from the Roman Catholic Parish of Aston-Le-Walls, which consists of about 20 villages in Southwest Northamptonshire, and from the surrounding neighbourhood including the Roman Catholic Parish of Daventry. The school aims to develop each child's potential academically, socially and spiritually. The school has received a DfES achievement award for the last three years because its results are higher than those of similar schools. The school choir is invited to sing in several local events. There is an after-school French club.
