Background:
Stanion Church of England (Aided) Primary School originally founded in the 19th century by the Church of England, its present building dates from 1967. A classroom extension was added in 2000 with a computer network, medical room. The school is set in its own grounds, which include a nature area. It is located in the main part of the village, two miles east of Corby. After-school clubs include football and netball and, despite the small size of the school, teams experience success in local competitions. Good links are maintained with the local church and community and there is strong support from the friends association. The school'supports the Children's Society, Poppy Fund, Children in Need, Comic Relief, the NSPCC and other charities. It is over-subscribed and receives two applications for every place.
